About
A design leader who still ships.
Twenty-plus years in design. Most recently the entire design function at an AI-security startup, reporting to the CEO. Before that, I built and led the design team at a Series C health-tech company.
Background
At OPAQUE, a Series B AI security and governance startup, I was hired as the founding product designer and grew into the sole design and research lead on the executive team. I’m equally comfortable setting product strategy with the CEO and shipping the interface myself.
Before that I was the founding Director of Product Design at Artera, an EHR-integrated patient communication platform for hospital systems, and was promoted to Head of Design in the C-level triad with the CTO and CPO. I built the research practice and the design system, and the whole design team stayed through two rounds of layoffs.
At MyCase, a practice-management platform for law firms, I moved from senior designer to head of UX over four years, and operationalized UX research in a way that sped up product discovery by 50%. Earlier, I co-founded a product consultancy and a social-publishing apps company that was acquired by Livefyre, where I then designed the analytics platform.
How I work
I like working with founders to bring a product vision to life and test it in the market, then build the product and the team around it. I want to do that somewhere early-stage, in health tech or another regulated space, collaborating with a team to deliver research-driven, innovative experiences that matter to real people.
